Hi all. I'm needing two lambs butchered in a months time. Has anyone here got the gear and knowledge to do it for some $$$ or can recommend someone? North Waikato based. Thanks

A bit far away for me unfortunately. Last ones I did I charged $50 per animal to kill and cut up next day....that was less than half of what any butcher would charge.find any shepherd from 16-86 years old and they will be able to sort you out lol.

Look online, heaps of killing and butchering details, main thing is to have the chiller space to hang for 7 days before packaging.
Don’t need to leave sheep on the hook for 7 days, overnight gets perfectly good results.
they are easy to do its the cleanup after and hanging the lambs - where to get rid of the guts and skin head feet and somewhere to hang at least overnight away from flys - must be home kill near there
If you post on here what facilities you have got including water, hanging and offal disposal you might encourage someone to do it. I would if you were closer.
I did one last week for myself.

Restraint is the better part of dignity. Don't justify getting even. Do not do unto others as they do unto you if it will cause harm.
I shot 10 wild sheep New years eve afternoon ( a brief sunny moment between days of rain )
The 4 lambs were butchered, carried out and are resting in my beer fridge at the moment.
I'm sure someone local can show you how to do it

Wild, they were absolutely furious at being shot with something from the 19th century. As to the age mark no doubt we will find out in time.
Perhaps not really wild - more like feral.
Feral sheep on their home turf are wiley adversaries
too old to die young
If it has an earmark, it is owned by someone.
I'm not suggesting Akaroa1 has done anything wrong, just pointed out one has an earmark.
Overkill is still dead.
one property I hunt they are wild but odd one has a mark still bloody delicious - owner says shoot the buggers
If its owner is no longer in pursuit......on land it's not supposed to be on..... Mum bit it when cleaning at birth..... The ear got in way of projectile six months ago....the options are endless. I've shot many feral sheep with plastic eartags in them..I put them in and that was last time human hand touched them....couple of years running free the huas are feral alright.
