Grey Teal thai red curry - mmmm

As the title suggests made a thai red curry from some grey teal I shot opening weekend. Tried the trick I've heard of soaking the meat in milk to reduce a bit of the gaminess and it worked a treat so next test is on the missus! Mind the meal presentation, I like taste not looks@=!

I love NZ wines and this was ok but wouldn't rush out to grab this one again.

Excellent BH. That Pinot Noir would also go well with venison I am sure.

The grey teal is the nicest of wild ducks to eat I think. Tried them in Aussie, not here!!! I actually find it curious that we cannot shoot them actually.,..saw a flight of at least fifteen last year...I would rather they took shoveller off the list and put the teal back on it for a couple of years.

The pond we have shot for the last few years, has more resident grey teal than it does mallards. Heaps of the little buggers about in some areas.

Over here they're our most plentiful game bird (along with wood ducks). I do love them, best eating though is a pinkear off a salt swamp when they have pink fat....good stuff!
