Thread: Hanging Carcass without chiller

    I got a whole beast done the other day. Butcher charged $700, and that included 40kg sausages.
    The animal cost $1300. So $2000 all up.
    300kg hanging carcass.

    Being very careful not to use the wrong terminology and bluebaiter222 pulls me up again

    Did you get an approx weight & $/kg for the Finished product ?

    Thats a very cheap animal. I am about to offload some steers. 680kg @22 months old, will get $just over 2K for each of them. Current works price. Your animal would have been 600 ish kgs alive. About $1800 if sold to the works today.

    And the butchery was cheap too!!!
