Homebrew - What are you currently brewing?

I have done a few brews now. Have moved onto all-grain using the BIAB method.http://www.brewerscoop.co.nz/BIAB.pdf

I just ordered a Hoppy Hefeweizen recipe kit off allgrain.co.nz so am looking forward to trying that out this week...

    Anyone else into brewing?

    Yes.

Still setting up kegs for all grain (2 vessel, MLT and Kettle + pump/cooling plate). Have been brewing at work in the meantime. Any photos of your setup?

Looking at doing a sassy red clone next.

Got a grape vine growing over from next door. shit loads of bunches, from the two i have seen that were almost ripe they were a red one not green.
should I prun leaves to get them to ripen or leave alone?

once ripe apart from squashing em what's involved in making a wine ?

I have been thinking about getting another coopers brewing kit to have another go after I made two brews and both attempts at brewing failed a few years back so sold my kit and now regret selling it. I do think I know where I went wrong with those two brews the first one was not left long enough to ferment plus I think it also got a bug in it after I had used bleach to try and sterilize the brew barrel and bottles (came out tasting like bananas) the second which was an irish ale the alc content was enough that your body went numb after one large bottle and turned you into a giggling idiot but tasted like utter crap and had no fizz to it but that part was my fault yet again I stuck in a whole KG of sugar when it was meant to be 500grams along with 300grams golden syrup while trying to follow the instructions online.

The first brew I tried to make was the coppers lager that came with the starter kit then I tried to use lion real ale for the irish ale if I were to try again I would use a concentrate such as muntons blonde or brewtec (they have one that tastes like lion red)

Yeah we have the Emersons brewery down here which is a source of free 500ml bottles so I haven't gone to kegs yet. Although a bit of a pain for cleaning and such, the free bottles really are good...

I just have a couple of pots, an immersion chiller, an old BBQ with a winch arm, incubator type box with a thermostat.

It really is amazing how easy it is to make pretty good beer with a tiny bit of investment and knowledge.
@hunter308 I can bottle what passes through me after I drink my brews and send it up if you want, it will taste better than Lion Red... Seriously though if you get back into it I would be happy to share what little I have learnt...

Dont know anything about wine sorry @vietnamcam.

Look forward to hearing how that Cider comes out though @P38

Yes, VC, you could pluck the leaves to allow the sun and more importantly the air (helps keep the botrytis, powdery and downy mildews away) to get to the bunches...you might need to cover the bunches with old stockings or net or sit there all day to blast at the birds with the old fowling piece!! If you live anywhere where there are vineyards, most of them will have old nets to give away which can also be useful to protect strawberry patches, covering the raspberries and currant plants.
