cheers ,had a funny feeling it was 12mile .incidentally was talking to a bloke I havent seen for 25+yrs just recently and we had a good old yarn about those days and the abundant free tucker.
also used to be good mussels out in front of the old greyhound pub at arahura although IIRC you needed permission form the local maori which generally wasnt a problem if you minded your P&Qs and didnt abuse the privelege.those buggers were particularly tasty marinated with onions in ye old malt vinegar-it used to be a mate of mines party piece -never bought a jar ,always a tub of his special mussels!
