Want to try cooking a full back leg of venison in one of those pizza oven thingy's, any one tried it and if so any pointers. Have done heaps on the barbecue and they work out awesome.

I am no expert but a pizza oven is designed to cook pizza fast at very high temperature and you will need to cook the haunch nice and slow. So unless you have an insulated oven that you can let cool after the initial firing then close the door to slow roast you may run into problems.

My next outdoor project is going to be a outdoor oven. Have done a clay oven in the past and it worked great for pizza.

They can't stop you ! Just don't call it a outdoor fire , it's a outdoor oven/ BBQ . Built them under christchurch clean air rules.
Just use common sence and put a decent flue on it so as not to smoke out neibourhood .
