If you get one of those slip-on ones (Silent Kill) you don't need to get the barrel threaded - it just fits with a hose clamp (included). You can keep your original sights fitted too without having to butcher them. I've used quite a few of them and never worn one out. My oldest one has had nearly 2000 rounds through it (on a Ruger 10/22). They are 3D printed and work quite well. I have five of them for various .22's and have been really pleased with the performance. They cost $99 on TradeMe.

Chop the front sight off. I assume you use a scope.
Any suppressor works well on a .22. Even the little Husssh ones from H&F.
