.22 barrel bore and re sleeve

Is there anyone on the forum who has drilled out an old .22RF and re sleeved ?
There are heaps of videos on line and it looks easy enough to do.
But would need a barrel sleeve and the correct deep barrel drill from Brownells.

Or does anyone have a deep drill that I could use at a cost etc.
I'm picking there are a few out there that have only been used once.

I doubt there would be any barrel sleeves available in NZ? But might be pleasantly surprised

The GUnsmith in Hamilton - Clelands - have the gear to do it.

I have a deep boring drill waiting for me in the US , plus a liner.

You can turn down an existing .22 barrel and install that as a liner . You need a lathe to do it properly

Last time I was raiding Arthur Cleland's barrel rack he had a few .22 and possibly .17 barrel liners in stock. Also has all tools to fit them. Im heading down there now so will confirm they are still there shortly

just be aware that 22LR uses a 1:16 twist and 22 Short uses a 1;20 twist. I spoke to Arthur a couple of months ago and he only had the liners for shorts and 17s
