    6x45 'carbonlight'

Here are pics of my rifle that I've bedded into the carbon stock that I made a couple of months back.

The rifle shoots nicely with most bullets I've tried.

Very cool rifle and cartridge, stock looks super nice.

Im surprised it weighs as much as it does. Must be a fare bit of weight in the stock eh.

Thanks, stock is not too bad at 750g but could be lighter. Bottom metal and scope are probably the main culprits weight wise.

Thanks very much, Lockdown gave me the time for making stock and it needed plenty hours to get it done!

The antlers on the roe are up there with the biggest I've shot, although I don't think that the buck is that old. Just good farmland surrounding the felled wood where I got him.

Rifles looking better with every picture. The Sako 75 action isn't the lightest either but a great foundation for the 6x45, I'd be happy with that weight. You must have taken a good number of roe with it now

Thanks @Scout yes I only use GS Custom bullets for hunting. I've maybe shot 70 deer (Roe, Sika, handful of Reds) with them now and find them really good. The carcass damage can be a bit much with high velocities at the short ranges (up to 150m) that I generally shoot at. They always go right through and the deer don't go far if I do my bit.

    The 62gr GS HV gets about 3350fps of the 6x45 (20.5", 1:8" twist) with 25.5gr Reloader 7 and a CCI450 primer.

I use 110gr GS HV's out of the .270 at about 3400 fps loaded with 63gr Ramshot Hunter and Federal 215 primer.

Is there a build thread on the stock?

Sorry haven't done one here but here are the threads I did on my local UK stalking forum for my fibreglass and carbon stocks:

Shout if you want any other info. I'm still learning a lot about moulding composites...
