What do you do when your roll-on runs dry? Recycle its 33mm hollow plastic ball to go over a 20mm milspec one

Cut hole, a bit too small so cracked, never mind, had to superglue it into position anyway. Oversize hole used to squirt in gorilla polyurethane glue. this will expand into a lightweight hard matrix and extrude thhrough the hole. The material can be trimmed to size around the base of the knob, will be easier to do before it goes all hard. Then paint.

Second project today (which really makes zero financial sense given the prohibitive cost of 7.65x17 Browning, but one local range won't allow bottleneck cartridges). I have a 12G adapter for the 7.65 cartridge made out of an piece of .303 H barrel and it works fine in the .303 bore.

.303 case, 9.5mm drill out the rear, turn some black mild steel to fill the gap behind the pistol cartridge, drill a firing pin hole including pocket for the nail used for this. Round off the tip of the nail so it doesn't pierce the primer. I managed to tip the items on the floor several times already, including into a box of junk metal... )-:< so... a bit of tape to make the nail less prone to jump ship.

I'm thinking, I could also turn a groove in the breech piece for an 'o' ring to make it less likely to drop out of the .303 case.

The morning after.

Last night I realised that even though I'd taken care not to overdo the PU glue, there was too much. Result, pocket of still-liquid glue in a pocket behind the hardened glue. So I twisted the knob around a bit to break the crust and let air/moisture to the liquid glue. Worked pretty well by this morning. I'll run in bit more PU glue which should expand into the rest of the gap.

And I checked, no, can't smell my armpits on it.

Interesting, amazing what can be done when you think outside the box.

Final stage, after whittling down with my Stanley and 240 grit sandpaper, fill pits with superglue, sand again and Humbrol matte black. And voila! Looks like genuine aluminium!

Well the 7.65 Browning to .303 adapter works, well, point blank for putting down a cow.
Accuracy at 50m rubbish, even if I used a red dot sight. First group of three, a two inch pair, and a lost flier. Second salvo group, the smell broke through and it became apparent I was onto a sh*t idea.

No doubt accuracy result was very much a result of distance to the lands, and removing the neck of the adapter may address this by locating the pistol cartridge further forwards, but still way off the lands even with a tight target barrel.

Cases also bulge and split, so no reloading. I had fun.

so idea has SOME merit..find someone with lathe to turn one up for you so your browning case has tighter chamber,eg no room to expand inside the brit case.basically what you already have but with super thick walls....you COULD possibly try filling in the void,like bedding action into stock and see if it will last....possibly.

The big black knob worked well, especially as I'd forgotten to size the empty case used for my adapter and so it took a bit extra to close the bolt on it.

Upside of my omission was that the adapter did not expand and change dimensions. A forward-moved shoulder in a generous military chamber might have rendered the firing pin plug too short.
