Bipod spikes
Thought I'd give making some spikes for my Harris a crack. Turned out reasonably well. All done on an old Colchester. First time on a lathe. Used 4 different drill bits to get just the right snug fit. I have a CAD technical drawing for them if anyone want to copy them. One of the feet went walkies in the chuck so is a little dented but still fully functional.

Good skills there Tuckerbox.

From the first photo they look like they came straight out of Gunworks

Nice, wonder if I can make then out of rata on the wood lathe, would just have to glue them on though
-
@Tuckerbox - feel free to send me through the CAD file. It looks like it will be a good project to knock off while the weather is not playing ball.

Hi @quentin Do you want it as a dwg or pdf file? PM me your email address.

I'll just pop it up here. I can change all dimensions to imperial if you prefer.

Perfect. Thanks @Tuckerbox

Thanks for the details.
They look good.
Maybe you should start selling a few

Thought about it but without cnc goodness it's too labour intensive. Might 3d print some prototypes.

There are some other good Harris mods. You can make these adapters so you can add atlas-style leg extenders, just tubes with a hole in them for the ball detent https://www.coreshooting.com/product...nt=20237358339. Leg extensions can be made as well. Ball plungers are cheap as on Alliexpress. Then you could widen the stance like this Stop the Hop! | The Shooting SHED Journal and best of all, costs a bit of coin and adds a little weight but works great Rotapod Rotating bipod adapter for Picatinny rails Harris Bipods. Now if some one can just come up with a way to adapt a Harris so it was super steady like this with a wider stance and lower center of gravity then please let me know https://rifletalk.org/2015/04/02/rev...the-lra-bipod/
