    Browning X bolt wood stock

    How do you remove the finish on these? I have tried septone and selleys paint strippers with no luck. Any suggestions?

    have a look on these two. Maybe something might work. Acetone seems to pop up as well. Is it gloss or oil?
    Might just have to old school and use an abrasive. A shard of broken glass is good fro taking off the hard lacquers.

    @garyp I have stripped the finish on a couple of modern Browning shotguns and they possibly have the same finish as on your rifle. You need a 'proper' methyl chloride based paint/varnish remover - this stuff is pretty toxic so take due care.
