Colored Laminate blanks for gun stocks

    Good afternoon,

Does anyone know of anyone in NZ that sells colored laminate blanks for making custom gun stocks? I've done some searching to no avail but have found this place below overseas with a awesome variety of colors to choose from

As far as I know, we don't have anywhere doing that sort of ply. It's a lot higher spec (quality and grain of the ply sections, and also thinner ply) than the usual construction and facing grades we have. More like an extra thick marine ply, which people have used but the results from a proper stock ply are a lot higher as the grain of each ply is laid to minimise the tearout when the stock is being shaped. The colour is just from each ply layer being dyed, that's not a major to do but the grain and ply defect limits are a lot more stringent for the stock grade blanks.

I stumbled across a website selling diy kits to build skateboard decks a while back that sold individual colored ply sheets

I saw a video a few years back where a guy took a heap of old skateboard decks and steamed them flat and laminated them together then built a rifle stock from the "blank" he had created.
