    DIY wet tumbler

    I copied the idea from some youtube research I did before I started...

    It is made from an electric treadmill.
    Easy as. Apart from the fancy welder all it took was an angle grinder, vice grips to fold the drip tray (under the long rollers), skill saw to cut the ply box (and a fancy router to put the bull nose on, just managed to get the box cut and assembled during two smoko breaks! and that includes making one the wrong size because I was rushing)

    The drum is some pvc pipe, I cut another length of the same pipe and sliced a bit out to allow it to spring fit inside the main drum. This was done to keep the agitator bolts from penetrating the water tight drum and possibly leaking on the electronics beneath the rollers.
    I also glued (ados F2) some butynol rubber onto the rollers for traction, and built up a few layers onto the drum for clearance where necessary.

    If I can learn how to youtube properly I might make a video of it.

    It took 600 .223 easily, Probably take at least 1000.

    Oh yeah.... I built it for four reasons:

    I like to make stuff.
    To clean brass.

    And nothing off the shelf would fit 40mm cases, this does. (but does not work well, as they do not tumble. just roll around getting the bash from the agitators)
    Use enough gun

    @40mm,

    Cheap bastards beat the new world order system which is designed to part fools and their money. (-:

    Maybe a bucket of small stainless steel nails could work as a tumbling medium?

    No need for pointy, edgy agitators if you just fix an off-centre inner sleeve inside your tumbler.
    An itch ... is ... a desire to scratch

    Cheers, I might try that.
