capri Scotty??
They used to rust really bad in the firewall, mudguards and rear wheel arches.
What have you done to that one ??
@will.i.em not mine ...... you know they have (or had ) these in SA but with a V8 in them....probably the only version of these I personally would own because of the uniqueness of only being built for the SA market, think they are quite rare now
@tac a1 MK1 V6 ground up rebuild ....rusty as and had a roll cage in it but the plates are live so worth the effort for the owner.......
off to James next week for a re-prime and paint the engine bay so I can put the running gear back in
Guy I know who had the V6 version would have two 40kg bags of cement in the boot to help keep the back end on the road
Brings back memories
It's an old Mk2 Capri? Wern't the V6 ones made in Germany?
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds
Nice, I like it when these cars are bought back to life.
Those Mk1 Capris are not very common anymore, is it an early Mk1 or the facelift version?
There were a number of engine options for them, but NZ mostly got the Kent L4, Essex V4/V6 engines and Pinto OHC 4cyl, Europe got the Taunus & Cologne engines (the Cologne engine was the German V6) USA also got the Cologne engine and it was also fitted to MkIV Cortinas.
The Essex V6 was the base for the Cosworth 3.4l GAA V6 engine that was 450hp 300 ftlbs and 9000rpm

South Africa built the MKI Capri with a 302Windsor V8 and called it the Capri Perana
Somewhere I still have some bits for a Capri, and a MkIV Zephyr/Zodiac.
square headlights so pre facelift....... V6 Essex
Relative had one of these as a club car for a while, shoehorned a 302W into it. The bag of cement comment is about right.
the capri was one car that never grew on me
may be sarcastic may be a bad joke
