Family portrait. Vintage single shot big brother

The final family member ( project on going ) has arrived.

Hunter & Sons. 10 gauge Jones Underlever Single barrel shotgun.
This will likely become a 577 3" BPE

Here it is with the whole family

    Hunter 10 gauge
    Coster 500 BPE ( hammer removed )
    Webley 500 BPE
    Army & Navy 45-60 ( ex 16 gauge )

The 10 gauge is much larger than the 500 Coster and my 12 gauge Jones underlever
So it's easily big enough to build the 577 BPE on

Looks short but only because the action is so massive
    Lock up is excellent
Barrel is 35" and Full Plus choke

I still like that 10 gauge as 10 but wonder if after having a sex change to 577 from 775 it might look a bit " unbalanced" in the arms and shoulders dept

Well I appear to have brought another British 10 gauge side hammer single shotgun anyway !

You are inspiring me to make a set of rifle barrels for my Greener underlever 12 ga. .450 3" BPE would be nice. I might knock up a monoblock for a start anyway.

And now I have a hankering for a break action, side hammer, single shot 303 with a scope in QR mounts
I think that would be a pretty handy small bore to add to this family

Well the 10 gauge conversion to 577 3" is very nearly about to begin its sex change.
The case forming die reamer worked a treat.
I made cases with it from two different brands of 577 basic beass.

Then I reverse engineered a chamber reamer from those case sizes.
That reamer now needs hardening and tempering and when I feel the mood I will start the sex change surgery
