    Getting old

Hi , All I live in Wanganui and turn 90 in april , i have been doing gun work since I turned 16 (it was a slug gun ) in the time since then i have learned a lot and and can do anything gun wise ( like rifle a barrel) and think that it would be a good idea to start a young guy interested in shooting of on the right foot with gear (I have a lot ) and books .. Anyone interested living in the area ... Rob

Inspirational! What a fantastic offer lefty1. We are mostly all young when contrasted against your ninety years. It would be the opportunity of a lifetime for some young fellah to take you up I am sure.

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

    Good on ya @lefty1

I'm a Toolmaker with 30+ years behind me but I'd jump at the chance if I lived local as I'm sure you'd be able to show me a thing or three.

    Cheers

Hi , wish I had started out as a tool maker , the perfect start for a gunsmith , I began as a fitter welder then boiler maker blacksmith Time at the forge was my favourite time .making flat springs for spanish shot guns was a doddle after that ford car window winders was the donor material ... Being hard up most all the time I always charged mates rates, not just what the traffic allowed because I knew there were others out there like me who needed a boost up hence my offer , so far not a nibble ,can hardly believe it , perhaps it was the wrong place to star the thread or no one in the area has the urge to learn something of real use to them Rob

I would love to make my own barrel, apparently thats what an old chap who owned my lathe before I got it used it for. I might be in the area for a weekend in a couple of months so I will try to tee up a time to get a few ideas.
