    @birch, not straight forward at all.

    Even though the bolt face is the same, running a long action cartridge (270) in a short action is not a good idea.

    The magazine will be too short, and you may also run into case ejection issues.

    It would be easier to open the boldface to magnum, and potentially ream the 270 barrel to a short action version like 270 wsm
