JW103 Project
Hi all :)
I am new here but have been shooting for many years, with a recent break from shooting. Getting back in to it I decided to start out with a ruger 10/22 and a medium calibre bolt gun.
I wanted something handy and also something that would make a good "bush" gun. I picked up a Norinco JW103 for $300 from GC on sale and set to work. I decided to set up a wee web site to record what I did as could not find much info online about these basic but solid rifles.
the url for the site is http://www.thebushrangerproject.yolasite.com
At this point the rifle is all ready to go and I will take some "finished" photos first time I get it out to the range which won't be far off.
cheers

Cool project.
I made this one about 6 years ago. I built the stock (walnut) and bedded it, then made the suppressor from scratch, lightened the trigger, slicked up the action, cut down the barrel and self taught myself to thread and crown the barrel on my lathe.

It was offered to me by a work mate (for $200 for donar rifle) who brought it for culling work, it didn't suit his needs and he went back to using (abusing) his sako vixen. I cut it flush with the stock, but it then only held 3 rounds which was a bit of a handicap for my needs. Overall I liked this rifle and wish they made one with a 5 shot hinged floor plate magazine, then that would be a great little shooter.
I'll follow you build with interest, many thanks for posting
