    Light weight general purpose rig

I decided I wanted a very lightweight general purpose hunting rifle that has more grunt than my 6.5wsm, for everything from bush to 6-700 yards.

I have successfully shot the 120 GMXs out past 1000 yards with the wsm & VX3 CDS so that got the thought process well underway

It currently weighs 2.880 kgs, 6.35lbs all up as shown in the pics.

I'm waiting for an even lighter stock with a better recoil pad

It is a Titanium action with 24" Lilja fluted barrel in 7-375 Ruger, Talley rings & VX3 4.5-14x40 CDS scope.

It happily pushes the 162 Amaxs at 3150 fps, it will go harder but I want to take it easy on the brass & action, Titanium is softer than SS & won't last forever.....

    Recoil is quite brisk....

I'm looking forward to getting the replacement stock, bedding it & assulting some rocks etc getting to know how it works.

I don't think my shoulder is though

With the CDS/VX3 are you clicking straight to your setting or wind past and back?

Mine was unreliable, sent it back to Leupold, and it is still erratic. So I'm wondering if its the fact that I mostly click straight to the setting.

I click straight to the required value on mine, = dead deer.

Whichever way you arrive at the MOA value in load development/testing do the same when hunting.

Action outdoors in Napier still has two of those scopes left at the old price of $999

You dont like how it flexis on the bipod ?,its simalar to the mod 70 all weather would look great on my rig.Would this rig cause you to contemplate a break design for it ?its no diff to people having suppressors on them and all arguments aside do you need an excuse

If I stuck a T2 Terminator brake on it I could probably fire it one handed
