    It looks like it still wants to be a file, but I'm happy with it, not a bad use of a Friday morning

    I think they're best if rehardened and tempered. They're reso brittle as a file.

    That's what I did, then forced a patina with apple cider vinegar

    ive got one that i started many years ago. keep mucking with it instead of finishing. Last thing i did i reckon it needs a bit of a redo. Hardened and tempered. Takes a pretty good edge but obviously dont know how long it will hold it.
