Needed a new lockable case for my ftr rifle

Planed down some lawson cypress boards to required dimensions and glued and screwed all joints. Then traced outline of rifle inside and cut compartments to fit.
Used 12mm rubber mats cut to fit including recesses for scope turrets bubble etc and secured with f2 Ados.
Lined contact areas with blue felt.
Strong locks and 35kg handle sourced from Oz manufacturer.
Top and bottom painted with marine enamel and sides with clear varnish.
Took me about 3 weeks to complete.

Nice work. Does it fit across the back of the Toyota?
I'd like to verify your clam.

Yes. The grs stocked howa 308 has 26" bbl and there is 1" to spare, so fits inside my car. Had to make it a bit thick to accomodate scope turrets and bubble. 20mm of padding below with recesses for the offset pistol grip, scope turrets and rings etc. Bare wood and felt inside to regulate changes in humidity. Thus no sweating hopefully. The rifle is supported only across mid butt cheekpiece and forend under receiver and longitudinally by ends i.e. butt plate and bipod spigot. The bbl is unsupported and the rifle is held solidly by stiffish foam upper mating blocks covered in closed cell foam and felt to absorb any shocks.
