    P14 shorty build

I have always wondered what a shortened P14 would handle like.

In stock trim they are quite a long heavy rifle. So i've kept my eye open for a mixmaster that I could suitably chop. One came up the other day at a Timaru swap meet and a friend of a friend picked it up for me. The stock was aftermarket with quite alot of shaping left to do along with some bad mistakes to remedy. The bolt/action was a mismatch but had a good bore.

Desert Guns did a beauty job of trimming the barrel with a suitable crown and I did the rest. Shes about an inch shorter than a SMLE or K98.

Handy wee carbine now -i believe his is what they did to a whole batch for the Chinese during WW2, but unlike mine they shortened the butt too.

Looks good, but its still too long, its needs to be shortened so the bayonet boss is where the midband is!

    Cool project.

Side note: screws on these rifles (and Enfield rifles in general as i understand it) run left to right, so your middle band is technically around the wrong way.
