some rifles I have built or stocked

A bit of reading and lots of pics for those not able to get out and do stuff

    Opening parragraph

It was suggested that I start a thread on some of the rifles I have worked on over the last few years. None of these are your high grade professional works but plain utilitarian using rifles that have a certain resonance with those having budgets that dont run to top of the line custom work.
There have been possibly 35 or more so wont do much more than possibly show what I started with and the finished rifle. Mausers, Lee Enfields, and Martini's have constituted the majority of them but there has also been Remington, Howa, BSA among others.
Not sure where to start on this so will just go through my albums and look first at those rifles sold on.

Been a bit busy with things through the Africa Hunting forum and stopped posting on the NZ forums as the feedback was a bit ratty. A mate said there had been a bit of a shake-up so have ventured back again.

It all looks several levels above plain utilitarian to me, very nice.

There is certainly some nice work there, interesting to see extending the magbox in the mini mauser.
It would be very handy to have a bit more leeway for my 6x45.

Very easy to do but you may have to do some throat work to match any extension. Not a problem for mine as it was a custom reamer set to my desired length.

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

That takes some skills to do what you do , you made me a knife a few years back with some walnut I sent you for the scales , that knife holds a fantastic edge .

Cheers Lucky. been a great experience making them with over 700 away now to customers in 9 countries and love getting pic feedback of them covered in blood and doing what they were designed to do.

Great to see you still at it Von. I still remember selling you a Brazilian Mauser 1908, years ago and the lovely work you did to it as a 7x57 if I remember right.

It has moved on with the 6.5x57 in pride of place now as linked in the thread
