    Cheers Cam.
I got a 2B and the smith spun it down to a T3 contour no problems. Very accurate.

reasonably set on a 260 just because it's an itch I want to scratch.....who knows in 6 months time
There is an older thread here comparing the various 6.5's, anyway from memory 'Wingman' had great success with the 6.5x47. Better velocity than a Creed or the 260 with lighter bullets.
So for a light recoiling short lightweight rifle it appears the 47 is the best choice (behind the 250 3000 AI) with 120 grain class bullets or maybe a 100 gr Barnes ?. Inside 250 metres it would be great. The 260 or creed are better for the heavier bullets but that means more powder and recoil.

inside 250 meters he can use the dirty 30 LMFAO......
it may have sprayed the factory flexitips like a mad womans shit but if he reloaded them to same recipe the round nose are for starting pont...chances are high there will be sweet spot in there somewhere too.

6.5 creed, 2.7kg as you see it. Mag length 130s at 2700 into less than an inch with bugger all buggering around.

Whole thing owes me less than 2 grand

Done before me, but is 16.5. Feels like a toy in hand.

Jumps around a bit on a bipod but fine to shoot over the pack with a for end hold

Is that 2.7kg scoped and suppressed? they are listed as ~2.55kg bare?

My Montana is 2.722kg with hardy suppressor and Leupold 3-9x33 ultralight and 14.5” barrel. I too would have thought the hunter model would be a little heavier

Yep, chopped barrel which helps, but these stocks have a heavy rubber fill in the stock and grip which drops a good few hundred grams. I just jammed some pool noodle foam back in to keep the noise down. Poor man's ultralight

Nice, I think I was looking at hunter specs, how much weight did taking that foam out save on your Montana?

Mines a hunter, cant remember exactly but pretty sure it was 350 odd grams worth, definitely significant. more than the weight of the wee vx3 that sits on top. Think i put like 10 grams of foam back in to replace it.

The sceptic in me wants to say they used a heavy fill to justify the extra cost of the montana's composite stock. The barreled actions are identical as far as I can tell

Can I suggest something that hasn't been mentioned before as an option??? ...... Why not one of the Bergara Extreme Rifles in 6.5CM?? Chuck it in a manners stock and away you go. Ryan on here had one in .308 and he gave it pretty good wraps. he might be able to tell you what it weighed with the manners on it. And the barrel is already threaded and at 18".

I'm sure that will do all that was on your original wish list.
