Thread: Threading Tikka T3X Lite .223

I thought this might be a good place to ask this question.
I've decided to get a Tikka T3X Lite Stainless .223 1:8 and someday (in NZ) I will get her threaded and suppressed.
I'm super new to the suppression game, obviously. Concerned about barrel diameter.
So can it be done and is it done frequently by gunsmiths there?
The alternatives I see is to buy a Tikka (Tikka Veil) that's threaded for $500 more or a Kiber or Franchi that is already threaded but I'm a simple man and the Tikka is probably just right for me.
Any input is appreciated.

Any gunsmith will be able to cut and thread your rifle i just had my Tikka .223 cut and threaded to 18".

@Joe Schmo $100 get it threaded in NZ.

Suppressors are so common here that they are the norm. Common threads are 1/2x28 , 1/2x20 and 14x1, probably in that order.

The USA laws are really backwards in this area. Suppressors are viewed as a health and safety item, rather than a weapon of terror. They allow you to take a dog on the hunt, and to walk without hearing protection, and have probably saved ACC a truck load of money that would have gone to hearing aids! (ACC - accident compensation commission - pays for treatment of injury as a result of an accident - whether criminal, stupid or misfortune.)

Tikkas are easy to thread, I did 3 last week. There are many good suppressors out there. Pm me if you need any help

gunsmiths are non existant around where I live so any good engineer and I try pick the best do great threads

50-100nzd is normal my last one was $80

Yes that is an issue, or at least was for me until FSSprecision turned up, so something for Joe to think about.
