    Tikka T3 upgrade

Love them or hate them, One thing you cannot fault is accuracy. Out of the box they are generally more accurate than their higher priced cousins. Anyway im getting sidetracked. One thing im sure we can all agree on however is they look batshit boring! The black plastic stocks and stainless finish. I love my 708 and it shoots and kills deer wonderfully. However I was bored with it. Not wanting to sell it I did some home mods.

1- dropped the stock out and repainted it with three different shades of flat green rustoleum paint . Obviously let them bake in the sun for a few days between coats.

2- repeated the same process with the supressor and other plastic parts.

3- dropped out the trigger and bolt ejector. Then getting a can of DIY creakote ( same thing basically ) gave the action and barrel a few coats . Then when mum was out suspended it in the oven using #8 fencing wire and baked it at 150c for an hour. . Did the job and reassembled. Total cost $150 ish

    The result -

Looks good man. I have been tempted to get the airbrush onto my Mod 7 stug stock too. After looking at them for so long they get old

Tikka rifles are pretty soulless, but they do the job well.

That’s better. It’s sometimes easy to overlook the obvious. Talley rings. No base

Nice work, looks good. Have you got a photo of the cans you used? I’m feeling bored
