Slipping forward on the handle can be a concern but this bolster reaches to the depth of the forward finger so it would take a weak hold for it to be a problem and the slipage is usually compounded by resistance to the thrust and the point design and sharpness of this one makes that a non problem. Light lower handle notches also help with hand grip so I think that any potential problem has been taken care of but then I havent hunted bear or had to address an up close encounter with one either
    Customer is happy.
