Great stuff. I will look forward to the police being able to trace the pistols to see if they were stolen or not.

A lot looked like plain average rifles and shotguns - but I guess they were illegally owned?
But no MSSA that I saw (or did I not look properly)
Finally. Good on the Police for doing what I expect them to do ………… all the time.
The only pistol that appears to be real is the .22 Glock style in the lower photo. The other two appear to be gas or soft air. The photos were credited as being of the seized guns.
Any guns off the street and out of criminal hands is a good thing, but I still can't see why this sort of event generates such headlines. It really just seems like it's a case of 'well done - you did your job' and surely that's what everyone would expect?
You don't see headlines every time a garbage truck empties 100,000 bins or a sharemilker pulls 10,000 teats - I dunno, maybe I'm not getting the point here!
I can't help but think how trustworthy the police are anyway https://www.1news.co.nz/2025/10/30/p...-investigated/
I first saw the story in the Guardian, and had a hmmm moment when I saw the first photo. Top "gun" looks like a toy to me.

Wonder what led to them being under investgation, or were they not registered yet? Unusual that drugs werent found as well, usually goes hand in hand.
Well I for one aren't going to bag the Police for doing their job, in all its complexity and forms.
If they weren't, THEN I'd be be up in arms about it.
Hot barrels..... NIMROD
Or when they have overstepped their role?
