That is so sad. Just goes to show you the need for safety knowledge for all firearms.
saw on the news. pierced his heart. very sad
Article should be titled "Dip shit kills somebody with air rifle"
I heard the Auckland NZDA guy on the radio talking about how he thinks there needs to be more restrictions on air rifles.
Should't be shooting that kind of thing in a back yard. I mean some of them are hitting with more grunt than a 22.

Sigh... no, they're not "weapons". Very deliberate wording there.Quote:
He said air guns were "powerful weapons that have potential to kill or seriously injure".
It's all about selling fear bro
If that's the case, my mistake. Even so a 1200fps 17 cal pellet (or 22 cal) has to be able to do some serious damage. I'm not sure what the pellets weigh.
When I'm out bunny shooting I'm always careful about houses in the distance, even km's away. ALWAYS watching whats in my line of fire. These guys were shooting in a suburban backyard. How could it not occur to them that it might not be the smartest move.
They are certainly not toys. Iv had to pic a pellet out of my skin on my chest! Bloody cousin!
