It's called the "She'll Be Right, Mate" attitude. A NZ affliction until it isn't. Then we all whinge a lot.

You guys are totally missing the point ( their point). Why do you need a firearm anyway?
Theres a few things they know. 1 firearms owners will never stick together, makes it very easy to do what they want.
2 apathy
3 it doenst affect me (yet) so do what you like to the others.
4 keep the focus on those who are complying and keep making up dumb shit and keep them complying, making it appear that they are doing a good job, and it keeps the focus off the real problem.
5 a lot are happy to sit there and take the blame
6 we are the criminals.....
Have I forgotten anything?
Puts flak jacket on and jumps in fox hole
Yeah, same thing but completely different, I read a really great interview with a holocaust survivor. The interviewer asked her, why did you guys just go along with these atrocities. She then explained, it did not happen all at once, it was just a little bit, then a little bit more, then a little bit more, then next thing....It will be the same here. First it was semi's then max 10 shot mags, then they will restrict ammo, then you will have to have a nominated farm for pest control blah blah. It would never get through if they did it all in one hit, hence they nibble away, using every crisis possible in order to sell it to the public as a safety thing. It really is just the fact that an armed population cannot be controlled and I believe there is a definite "end goal" in play here. There are no instances in history that I am aware of where ordinary citizens were better off disarmed.
Have a listen to this from Margret Thatcher, she was an incredible woman.

- Whinge and moan about not wanting to write a submission because its too much work
- Claim that Nicole is going to save us
- Realize that western Australian restrictions are coming (consider implications for hunting on public land?
- Only ever whinge and moan, never ever commit to actually doing anything.
In my view this really is the root of our problems. United we stand, divided we fall as the saying goes.
At risk of making things political, and I apologise in advance, I see it much like the Jacinda era covid mandates - they didn't end until enough people forced them to.
Time to stock up on ammo!
So I ask again (because I don't actually know) Who can we as a community talk to. Do we write letters to the Deer Stalkers or a politician? an email a day from at least 200 of us might be enough of an inconvenience to get something done. I ask because i genuinely don't know.
Yea stocking up on Ammo might be a short-term option as someone mentioned or we can do something about it. yea I don't know
We need to get off our arses and do it ourselves not sit back and do nothing expecting someone else to do it for you. As I use to tell my kids, do nothing youll get nothing youll become nothing...
Well.
If post 1992 New Zealand LFO's had all donated one day's pay per year to a pro firearms group then they could have been a well funded professional organisation who were well placed to oppose any bullshit changes in legislation. Just look at what federated farmers can get away with..
Instead they all hid, clutching their wallets hoping someone else would front up the money on their behalf to protect their sport. Denying all the while that it was only " this" kind of gun ,or " that" kind of firearms owner that the anti's were after.
Remember the funds on here post March 15,all clamouring for the semi auto ban because their guns were going to be left alone?
The registration act is rapidly moving from the catchment phase to the restriction phase, which is surprising as normally these things take a few years to bed in or they run the risk of general non compliance.
United we stand , divided we fall.
Demonize a sector of society ( think " unvaxed people " ) , attack them in the media and protray them as the enemy , turn society against those people .
Seen it before , will see it again, no doubt.
Yea the writings on the wall unfortunately. A lot of people I know that used to be into there firearms and shooting and hunting are slowly drifting away and finding new hobbies
