D-day for registration free ammo purchases

    Friendly PSA...

24 June happens to be International Fairy Day, but also the date from which you will need to register your firearms if you purchase ammo.

I am sure I saw a clarification of this either from deerstalkers, colfo, ssanz etc. it was from the FSA in response to some questions but I can't pin it down now
I'm sure it said the following
Bulk purchases through clubs, only the purchasing individual will need to register their firearms if not already done. Downstream sales to users do not trigger the register
Individuals sales between licensed members of the public do not trigger the register.
A lfao can legally buy any calibre of ammunition irrespective of wether they own a firearm capable of chambering it or not.
If the purchaser has already registered their firearms they need do nothing more.
Components are not included as a triggering event
You do not need to register any ammunition.
If anyone knows the source and can post it I'd be grateful.

“From 24 June fal holders who have not yet registered their firearms will need to route all purchases of ammunition through a mate who has already registered his firearms”.

There, fixed it for you all. You’re welcome!

Wouldn't doing this by random lots of alphabetical order make more sense?? Seen it so many times, law/rule makers come up with ideas that thay like but don't work...

Are you making the mistake of applying logic to this? Besides, alphabetically might offend or discriminate...

You're forgetting, it's not about being effective or making things safer. It's about it being difficult so you give it up and do something else instead.

How on earth are they going to police this? How will they know?

I talked to a gunshop and there is no new information they are providing regarding ammo sales to the FSA.

Is this bit just being run on the honour system?

There is nothing honourable about this system or the organisation supposedly running it

Dealers just had an update from the FSA, it says we will use the existing on line form (that we use for gun sales and purchases), there will be an additional section in there for ammo and we will have to record caliber and quantity (no doubt also name, address and license number, which is in the existing first part of the form).

Not looking for a shite fight wether you agree with it or not, just putting it out there as updated accurate information

    Cheers
    Darren
