Yep, he was. It differs according to the region and how well staffed they happen to be. Wellington has 1 person undertaking all the interviews, so wait times here are well beyond 6 months for renewals.

I can confirm. Applied in May and got renewal within 2 months. Old FAL due to expire 2023 new FAL will expire 2032 so lasts 10 years from date of renewal.
But only 9 years between old and new anniversary.

Not just renewals. Wellington based. Registered my change of address when I moved into our new place over 18mnths ago & still haven’t heard anything or had anyone come check my security.

Applied new and received it in May 2022. Total Duration 22 months.

I wouldn't fret too much about things that seem not to have happened.
If you have advised them of your change of address, job done. You do, of course, have a copy of the correspondence that you advised them?
Provided that you have safe-keeping that is in compliance with the requirements, you have fulfilled your obligation. They might come and check you out, eventually. In the meantime - chill.

Glad to hear you have received yours but at the same time it's infuriating to read this. What a joke.

Don't forget that there was no interviews permitted during level 3 and 4 Covid restrictions.
