    Fixing E-Cat safe question

Dumb question, but I've recently shifted into a new house and no longer have a concrete wall to go into. So it'll now be two dynabolts going into the concrete floor and two fixtures going through the wall gib and into a stud. Is this ok for my B/C/E safe?

Just had mine (E) checked, Four 10 x 75mm dynabolts into concrete floor and fixed to 2 walls with 12x70mm coach screws into the gib and framing, He passed it but did say dynabolts were going out of favour with the coppers and they prefer chembolts or masonary anchors, Ring your local A.O and ask ,I have lived in several different districts and there seems to be different requirements from different A,O,s. Latest check was in Tauranga

Use concrete screw bolts, much easier to install and are easily removed if needed. Also are stronger than dyna bolts, better in every way. Coach screws into a stud is fine with mine

Getting the safe off the dynabolts if you don't leave a bit of room to knock them further in can be a right bastard

Haha. Yes indeed. They're wiggly things and a real prick (as Tommy also says) when you remove the safe if you haven't quite drilled enough to bang them down - as I recently discovered.

Ok, thanks all for the info. It'll now be concrete screw bolts and coach screws for the stud. Now I'm just wondering if my safe is predrilled vertically or horizontally on the back (picking it up tomorrow). If it's horizontally and I can't find a stud going across at the right height, should I just drill new holes where I need them?

    Yes. Or the Dyna-set anchor

I have 10mm chemset bolts and the mixture spare if anyone wants them cheap. Gave up on fitting to the garage floor and put the safe upstairs fitting to a 10mm steel plate.

And coach screws into the wall studs

Both must be at least 10mm in diameter

Two into the floor and two into the wall stud

If you mean, drill in the gun cabinet, then yes.

It's good idea to use good size washers with the coach bolts as well.

Yeah unfortunately this is the only way. I've been lucky and my places have not had boards over the inside of my garage walls, so I just screw in some 2x4 where needed, put a board over the lot and fix the safe to it.

Also BIG fuck off washers are a MUST like 10-Ring has said!
