This isn't that flash as well. Another breach of some form (although might not be the Arms regulator responsible for this one).

Yet another example of why we need a fuck me dead emoji.
Surly there you could withhold you information and not register when the time comes due to the privacy act or for other legal reasons related to this lack of information security?
Well that’s unusual
who would have thought it , eh?
That Grant Fletcher is a smart due though , career soldier turned lawyer.
Police have forced clubs to record details and no computer or paper is secure.
Maybe it was the prize list for a 3 gun competition ... ( outdated information on dwellings, across different districts, specific license groups )
staff identified a common thread amongst those on the list with regard to firearms licence type
must be single shot pcp's
My thoughts, did these come from a larger list? they say a certain license type was on this list. Shopping list?
Considering shooting clubs and ranges have only been setup and required to record and store this information recently I would think the information they have is all up to date not outdated information.
Or have some clubs/ranges been storing this information for sometime?
If the information has been sourced from a shooting club or range I'm pretty sure a few firearms owners, during the submission process, objected to the police requirement that shooting clubs record firearms license owners details and license information for this very reason.
Yea but what would us firearms owners know. Some people are saying its easy to get our info off the internet so ive given my permission for anyone to get mine and pm it to me. So far nothing....
You are being naive.
You haven't made yourself vulnerable because you haven't advertised anything for sale or revealed too much personal information. Many do, and they open the door.
Not withstanding that people do know your wife's former profession or role, the area you live in and your recreational preferences apart from hunting. You have told them.
I don't wring my hands about it. Plenty know who I am and could track me down. I rely on good security and the percentages.
Ka Sarah Sarah,at end of the day we can only do our best,if the baddies or the boogey man is really determined enough.nothing we do short of terminal intervention will stop them.we know it,they know it,the police know it,politicians know fcuk all.
In days gone by for kicks I traced a few forum posters thru to their phone numbers. It was easy.
They mentioned they were listing the unsold firearm on TradeMe. Found the listing and also found they had a vehicle for sale, with contact number.
From there a crim could phone them under the guise of asking to inspect vehicle and if the seller was dopey he would give them his address.
Not hard to get to that point if everthing lines up.
Ive got a dnz mount on here for sale
