Yep the Colfos response sums up exactly what the situation is.
The Police Association is basically a Union representing noncommissioned members of the Police. It does not necessary reflect the views of its members and Cahil is now using his position as platform to try to influence the political landscape. He has no more right to be heard than any other lobby group. As he only represents noncommissioned staff he has no mandate from senior Police management.
His voice is worth nothing and carries no political weight and as such he can jump up and down all he likes but no one other than the media will take any notice of him. The media will always give him a platform as they know what his stance will be.

The best thing about this, is that for those of us who threw votes Acts way it sends a clear and loud signal that by pissing off Cahill they are doing a great job

Chris Cahill is a snivelling little twerp that deserves no recognition from our fraternity let alone the representative that we elected to advance our cause. I am elated that he is spitting his dummy.

Funny, I wrote quite a long e mail to Nicole when she was asking for submissions on this.

She actually e mailed me back in person, which was very surprising. I think that she has genuine hunters and shooters best wishes at heart.

She has my full support and it amuses me immensely that some slippery little weasel is having a cry about 'a lack of consultation' after what he did to us.

I also know that he is not held in high regard by the average copper. I think that the damage has been done with the lack of action on the pay negotiations.

I contact Nicole from time to time. I have also contacted other pollys with the same questions etc. She is the only one who replys thats why she gets my vote.

I heard today that Act have put a bill into the ballot box that would give hunters a seat at the conservation table, fingers crossed it gets pulled from the box.

I totally agree with what's being said here about the whining and lies being told about us.

But be aware, I got banned for bringing up this exact subject. And I said way less than what's already been said in this thread. So tread carefully.
But I believe this needs to be discussed.

I see cahill on TV tonight stating that if Nicole McKee hadn't been representing firearms owners as a lobbyist, the law might not have been what it was and the chch attacker might not have been able to legally purchase semi auto firearms. I thought that was a bit rich considering the issues with the attacker being granted a license and the law regarding background checks for license applicants arguably not being correctly followed in that case. As suggested, very hypocritical and arguably not truthful.

We just need a reporter to ask a senior Police Officer to comment on Cahills claim of lack of consultation

Also repeated the reason for registration is police safety. Load of shit.
It should be for everybody's safety not just the rozzers if that sort of thing is valid justification
