Start now, my brothers took 8 months
Put mine in last month, expires in April.....

His license had expired, but he applied for a new one 4 months prior, my friend advised the arms person that "back in his day licenses we lifetime, so what changed?" to which the arms person said he didn't have to put up with "abuse" and sat in his car for 10 minutes. When he came back he advised that the firearms need to be removed from his possession to someone with a current license, a bit shitty, but fair.
Before I was made redundant by the MSC I was a firearms safety officer and delt with the licensing people frequently, and had zero problems.
Something has changed here I Northland, and I hear stories about people having trouble getting/keeping licenses. Unfortunately the best we can do is to comply with these fools, and complain at every instance, not just on forums and text messages but on your relative regions email on this link to the nz police website https://www.police.govt.nz/advice-se...ils?nondesktop
