Pretty used to going around, over and under obstacles with a loaded firearm

Like savage1 says, muzzle direction and trigger finger off, no drama

Happy, in and out of cars, onto and off platforms, thru tunnels, around doorways, under tables, whatever.

All part of normal IPSC compo...

Sorry whilst hunting I wouldn't but whatever . Playing in those more controlled events maybe dunno never done it !
I would hope to never be the one apologizing for an accident is probably my last point on it.
Is there an excuse for a firearm to go off and injure someone while that person or a mate of his climbs a fence?

    Cheers

and always an accident. Sorry your practice Im not happy with but just my opinion and won't affect me !
I'm with you happy with gun on ground , but am very aware of dogs and guns on ground . I know a bloke put his shot gun down to get through fence while he was getting through one of his dogs got excited and stepped on the trigger and shot his other dog , stone cold dead ! Should never happened but it did

To me there are no differences between the safety precautions I take hunting or competing in shooting sports like IPSC, NRA etc. Exactly the same safety principles apply, irrespective of what you are doing with a firearm.

Moral of the story is be very careful about who you choose to hunt with if anybody. There are plenty of dickheads who should not have firearms licences.

All adults KNOW when they are doing dumb shit,no matter that their dad did it for 80 years and you have done it for 30 years and its been ok so far. They just refuse to admit it.

Everyone is always sorry and regretful after the event. who gives a shit, they are still dicks.

There is the easy safe, sensible way,and there is the easy unsafe macho way.

Im not just talking all high n mighty... im talking about something damn close to my heart.

You lose your own 3 yr old daughter due to some other fuckers actions and see what it does to your perspective on what is safe and when someone is acting like a cunt. They can be sorry all they want but it wont change what happened.

I don't go overboard but my kids have been taught to be as safe as possible around guns, and woe betide some idiot acting up with even an air rifle around them.

    Sorry for rant.

Gun on ground sounds wonderful. No rabbit or netting fences around those parts eh.

You lot are starting to sound like you live in a nana state.

A basic revision of the english language might be required...

If the incident was not an accident, then it was intentional... Obviously the person did not intend to to shoot anybody on this occasion, so clearly it was an accident.

Negligence, carelessness, recklessness or dangerous behaviour is contributory to the outcome. Which in this case is a non intentional outcome and therefore an accident..

We need to leave the emotional rhetoric to the axe grinders and attention seeking, rather than consistently "shooting ourselves in the foot" with these sort of opinions that seem rather manipulated to express outrage, rather than help...
