Thread: Useing the firearms register

Damn, that is exactly what several people have said as being the most likely thing to happen with the way the new system was rolled out. There's actually more than two repositories of the info that makes up the registration systems in NZ, which is worse than what Cam Slater makes out. There are the Dealer's records, the Customs and import/export records, and whatever system the 17 new P endorsements are caught up in as well. Messy duplication which basically seems like ineffective political points scoring rather than a well thought out secure and efficient system. To do it properly would take a hell of a lot longer and cost a hell of a lot more than what's been thrown at it now though.
