This may seem a strange place for this picture, but once you see the thing you are looking for, maybe it will make sense. To me, it seems somehow connected with hunter safety, in that your eyes see what you are expecting to see in a given situation.

I see something that's not normally in a classroom. First thing I noticed to be fair. Stands out like dogsballs:D

Are you talking about the dog or the guy feeling up the Sheila In the fifth row?
It is far more complex than your brain seeing what it expects to see.
The eye is only focused in a very small section of the view your brain bulids and also there is the 'blind spot' where the optic nerve enters the rear of the eye. Your brain just 'paints in' the bits that are not clear and/or fills them in from previous scans of that section of the view, This is why people 'see' waht is not there and do not 'see'' stuff that is there but has not been scanned ver recently.
