    Creeping safety Mossberg 500

Has anyone experienced the tang safety on a Mossberg 500 creeping into the ‘safe’ position from recoil, or even racking the action multiple times?

I started to tighten the screw on the top of the safety, but noticed it’s a one-way screw so unsure how far to go with that, or if it might be something else?

    Cheers

    Tighten the screw.
I tried playing with mine for a while. It used to be quite stiff and on a bunny shoot it gave my thumb assholes putting it on and off all the time.
I lost the ball bearing once, shortened the screw etc.
    It should be quite firm.

I will add I did source another BB and a couple of years back probably another spring. I was going to get one of the better ones that are bigger but never did

Thanks for that, have tightened more and I’ll let you know how it goes under recoil

Honestly it will be quite firm to push on and off. Not like a side push button.
As I wrote earlier I was going to buy one of the bigger safety buttons but haven't.
On the bunny shoot mentioned earlier I bloody near had a blister from the sodding thing
