Looking for a 32inch MX8 Perazzi barrel - anyone know of one floating around
Looking for a 32inch MX8 Perazzi barrel - anyone know of one floating around
Have you tried Scott Stonex at Reloaders Supplies in Auckland?
Not yet. I will tomorrow, keep you updated
Have you tried Les clark? He's the perazzi bits man
Cheers Skeetshooter, I just texted him hopefully, I was silly Geoff Dukes sold a set to an Aussie guy. I should have grabbed them when I heard about them
I have 3 spare pair here but 30in not 32, but I'm a hoarder
Bugger 34 would have been even better as I’m not a small fella. I’ve got a 30inch barrel I purchased with my gun. It’s an originally a mx8 skeet gun, so I’ve also got the fixed choke 28inch barrels. The 32s are for my sporting as the 30s are a little too lively at the pointy end. Talked with Les he’s recommended Scott too. I will ring him tomorrow, thanks again team
Another option,
There's an out fit in Oz that sell yildiz pro guns, exact copy of the mx8,
Barrels fit straight in so I'm told,
Thank you for that, that’s very interesting. Went into reloaders today and put a barrel on my action. They’ve got one 32inch fixed chokes 1/2 and 1/2 $4000. Which is out of my price range currently, I was going to see if they’re interested in a deal with my 30inch barrels that have thin wall braileys. What would my barrel be worth it’s in good condition small amount of rubbing from the fore end as expected with use aged 2012 going by markings
About the same as the 32s. Brileys devalue it a bit
I would expect to pay maybe 3k for a tidy set of 30in,some people may say briley chokes devalue but I'm not one of those people,
In my experience not all barrels will interchange.
I had 5 mx8 here at one time maybe 1 set swapped amongst them all that you would go out and shoot,
The rest ranged from close with some fitting required to never going to happen,as in had a cple mm gap at breech when shut
Thanks for all the information team, learnt a lot. Reloaders Supplies couldn’t do a deal including my barrel as it’s being sold on behalf. I’ll try the yildiz avenue. Read abit about them, they sound like great Quilty barrels just doesn’t have that same reputation as Perazzi
Angelo Grassi in Australia usually has a few barrels. Not sure on logistics of getting them here but could be worth a phone call. His site is www.austguns.com.au
Perazzi need to get there act together re manufacturing techniques , well know there barrel solderering of ribs needs improvement, other manufacturers are brazing barrels and ribs whilst perrazi still useing soft solder.
I've had one set of barrels mid ribs came loose, and know of others,
