    A vote for 12 gauge here. A 410 solid weighs about 90 to 110 grains about the same as 3 .22 bullets and is owing the same speed. Fine for head shots at point blank, but not much else.
    The pig hunters I know mostly use pistol cal lever guns, but two carry single shot baikals in 308x39 and one a 12 gauge.
