Brought a new U/O over a few months back and have been doing the sporting clays circuit in the lead up to duckshooting. I haven't been cleaning the barrels in between shoots because they've been so regular. Went to give them a clean tonight and I'm struggling to get rid of all the plastic wad fowling. I've been using Remington Brite Bore. Anyone got any other suggestions on better products to use?
Hmmmm run boresnake through them a few times SHOULD get it...or better still/aswell as a twirly wire brush.....yeah yeah I know...the ones that bristles go out from core and around and back in so they curve out around bore...they shift all sorts of stubborn crap.
I should've added I've used both of them as well sorry. Plastic's still there.

yep, hit it with a bit of solvent, doesn't seem to matter what, as it wont have any effect on the plastic. but think of it as a bit of lube. then the best thing is the cyclone brush, the looped wire one described above.
as it is wound onto the brush in a loop you can push and pull it thru the barrel.
back and forth a bunch of times and it should loosen up quickly enough.

add atf in equal amount to acetone. as a bore solvent will lift and dissolve most plastics along with everything else. Dont get on your wood.Is also a fantastc penetrating agent for rusted bolts etc.
If you can get what used to be called a turks head brush, that'll shift it, they are steel wire like a dish mop. Plastic is a bastard to shift but one of these gets rid of it.
Give it a squirt out with CRC & leave it a day or 2 then a scrub with bronze brush or turks head. Many solvents will also strip oil out of barrel so after cleaning, oil the barrels well to avoid them rusting before you use the gun next.
