Missed a few shots at some ducks with ammo not firing, trying to work out if it's bad ammo or a too light primer strike.
This is a cheap Turkish gun made by girsan, is practically new but the shell on the right did not fire, the one on the left did
It might be hard to tell in the photo, but the one on the left appears more indented that the one in the right.

The firing pin misalignment is a problem and not easily correctable. It would pay to check the strength of the firing pin rebound spring and clip a few coils if too strong. Dressing down the nose of the firing to correct the offset is a possibility but only if the pin is of the non-rotatable style (i.e. with a flat and a retaining pin, as opposed to a purely turned pin). Some hammer springs can be boosted by inserting a smaller spring inside the mainspring, but it must be wound on the opposite hand to avoid the the springs locking together.
Was looking at this, not sure what to clean it with, some people say to use brake cleaner, but I know that applying gun oil is a bad idea with these.Quote:

Give the bolt a clean for a start if your confident at taking it apart
It's also possible that the primer in the rh shell is seated deeper so the pin travel is at its limit. It happens infrequently but I've seen it with most brands. Pin protrusion might also be worth measuring
