The firing pin misalignment is a problem and not easily correctable. It would pay to check the strength of the firing pin rebound spring and clip a few coils if too strong. Dressing down the nose of the firing to correct the offset is a possibility but only if the pin is of the non-rotatable style (i.e. with a flat and a retaining pin, as opposed to a purely turned pin). Some hammer springs can be boosted by inserting a smaller spring inside the mainspring, but it must be wound on the opposite hand to avoid the the springs locking together.
