Hi there, there a a couple of gun clubs around Auckland where you can pattern a gun. These clubs generally only shoot skeet and down the line on any given week. However they can be known to put on a sporting shoot in the lead up to the duck season in May. In saying that skeet is great for practicing the basics for sporting.

There are a couple of other game clubs that hold regular sporting shoots through the year on farms. With the duck season coming up the Hunting and Fishing chain of stores host shoots in conjunction with these clubs. In the Auckland area these shoots are in Thames (10 March) is about an hour twenty drive away - Muriwai (17 March) and Bombay Hills (28 April) see the website for more details - https://www.huntingandfishing.co.nz/...a-clay-circuit

There’s also other game clubs around Auckland that do little sporting shoots - they are usually low key and reasonably social - pm me if you like and I can dig out some details. Lastly for the really keen shooter the Waikato club which is about an hour and half away holds regular shoots - these shoots at Waikato are some of the best in the district and worth the drive on a Saturday or Sunday.

Kauri Bay/Boom Rock do 5 stand. It's a nice setup not far out of Auckland. There's Bracu as well.
