    SKB 505

Old skb 505 a viable all round gun? Can they shoot steel? Anything to look for on an old gun when thinking of buying?

I have a 33 year old SKB 505 - got it for my 21st. AOK with steel, fantastic strong action...should feel solid when you lock it up. Check inside barrels to ensure no pitting. Check comes with choke set.

    Japanese SKB are awesome guns.
    I have a 500 and two 1900's.
Pity they are not still made in Japan.

I don't suppose you know where there are any for sale?
I'd quite like a higher grade one.

Ooooh they are indeed a nice gun. I remember well carrying my mates one down hill to retrieve a wallaby I had sniped with 22-250, got nearly down to deceased and one very large very lively wallaby took off flat out down hill about fourty yards away,I swung up the U/O and blat, blat two loads of BBs tipped that one over too...heck I remember it like it was yesterday and it just has to be 25 years ago....they sure do point nicely.
