Sporting clays

Thought I would get the ball rolling, I'm a hard core sporting shooter, I know Dave (R93) is also, anyone else????? Also mad keen on upland bird shooting, especially the dog work. Love the sub-gauges...........looking for a 28g at the moment.;)
Any one else shoot sporting clays?????

I used to shoot a fair bit of Trap and Sporting.. havnt for last few years, but have just brought the Mrs a Miroku Skeet Gun as she wants to shoot it so we'll be getting back into it in the next few weeks.
Done a fair bit of upland Goose Shooting over the last 20 yrs

I have tried trap a couple of times and really enjoyed it, and am now looking forward to getting into it :)

Yep, used to shoot sporting most Sundays when I was in the UK and regularly shot skeet too.
Also have access to about 15 farms that I did the fox and pest control on who were kind enough to let me walk round with the shotgun and rough shoot pheasants, rabbits, partridge, pigeons, squirrels etc.
Now that I'm thinking about it, quite miss taking the shotgun out!

Trench and a bit of DTL for me. Skeet and sporting is always good fun to give the brain and nerves a rest tho

DTL and Skeet for me, social sporting events and a bit of trench and ball trap every now and then.

I used to do a lot of trap shooting back when I was at school, then mainly sporting after that. These days I only get to go to a shoot (possibly two) per year. When the kids are older I'm going to get them into it like my Dad did with us. That should give me a good excuse to do a lot more. :thumbsup:

I shoot with a group of guys here, 10 of us. We have our own traps 6 and all with wireless remotes etc. Bloody good fun and a great way to spend a sunday morning once a month. Other guys also shoot every thursday afternoon but I have to work:oh noes:
I don't have a fancy gun, I use my 20g. Have jut brought some 28g inserts for it also, for fun.
Brought it for upland hunting and then got invited into joining these guys.
Now I just need to find a good 12g when I can afford it,
If I had to give up some shooting clays would be last to go

I reckon and this is in my experience, if you can shoot reasonable sporting, skeet and mudpies are pretty elementry.
It is the hardest dicipline but the most fun.
Like golf with a shotgun.
And like golf instead of whack...........fuck Its boom...fuck
Far more social I reckon as well. Especially if you travel the circut.

Yep love the clays but I reckon golf with a shotgun would be pretty fun too:D

I used a do some when I was younger...
Skeet and trap too...

Used to do quite well at it, but I never competed cos the oldman rekoned it cost to much and pushed me to focus on my fishing interests more than anything, which I never minded at the time.... But I realise now the Skills and knowledge of fish habits I built up as a child pay off bigtime these days:thumbsup:

"Move, mount, shoot" method, pretty much "industry standard" for sporting, you're onto it. :thumbsup:
