When reading on this forum and looking at photos, I notice the labrador is very popular in NZ . In the UK he is purely used as a retriever, in Belgium the same and a very small number as roughshooting dogs.
If I am not wrong the labrador in NZ is used for all sporting purposes, roughshooting, duck, deer, boar, farm ,.......... Just how popular is the breed?
The lab in nz is widely used for horse eradication .............. One dog roll after another

Seriously Hales, although I am no expert, the lab is used extensively in NZ. Mostly for ducks and pheasants, but also on deer (if you can get a quiet one that stops panting long enough!!)Quote:

Dare I mention the showring....:yarr: the dogs conformation is, to me, all over the place...the long the short and the tall...boffy heads, narrow heads...short tails...how any decent judge can make sense of them I do not know...
