No, it is leather cord as opposed to leather lace...it is probably not really intended for braiding but more like sewing pieces of leather together...the bracelet/jewellery makers use it. You can buy it in many colours and different thicknessses.
The kangaroo hide lace is the best (and correspondingly much more expensive), although deer and calf lace is good as well especially for lanyards and other uses where there is low stress or impact so to speak. The ideal would be to buy a complete braid tanned hide and cut the braid yourself...
